Your rounds stay on your device

Last updated October 18, 2026

The short version

Saddlebrief has no accounts and no servers that store your data. Everything you enter in the app, including round details, course map photos, drawings, brief and debrief notes, and voice recordings, is saved in your browser's storage (IndexedDB) on your own phone or computer. We can't see it.

Camera and microphone

The app asks for your camera only when you take a course map photo, and your microphone only when you record a voice brief or debrief. Photos and recordings are saved on your device. They're never uploaded by Saddlebrief.

Sharing and backups

Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to share it. If you tap share or download on a map image, or make a JSON backup, that file goes wherever you send it.

Keep a backup

Because your data lives only on your device, clearing your browser data, deleting the home-screen app, or losing your phone can erase your rounds. Use More → Backup in the app now and then to save a copy.

Hosting

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site. Saddlebrief doesn't add analytics or advertising trackers to the app.

Newsletter

If you sign up for The Debrief, your email address is stored by our newsletter provider so we can send it to you. You can unsubscribe from any issue.

Affiliate links

Some gear links may be affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
